I Need Some Feedback Please

Hey Guys - I know it has been a while since I last posted but I've been really busy. Anyway I've started a new story and would like you all to let me know what you think - I mean really think.

Please be prepared that it is hot of the press and is unedited / proofed. This will be the only chapter I'm posting on my blog but may post excerpts later on down the line. The title is Plain Jane Revealed and here is the blurb followed by chapter one.

Blurb

Prim and proper Jane McGuire had two visible vices, stiletto heels and mascara, this was nothing compared to what she kept hidden underneath her clothes and in her spare room. Brought up strictly everything about her secret embarrassed her and she saw no visible way of ever getting in touch with her deepest, darkest desires. That is until Jane receives an invitation to an exculsive Fetish Club. A place she had never intended on visiting, that is until she finds out it's a masked ball.

Fabian Viali is the new CEO of Worth's, when he meets his new PA he can't help but wonder what this prim, proper plus sized woman is hiding. Her clothes clearly tell any man that she is off limits but the shoes tell Fabian otherwise. Intrigued he sets out to find out more about this woman with the plain face but curves he would like to sink in to. And what better way to test his secretive PA than the up and coming ball at his club.

Chapter One

Jane looked at herself in the cloak room mirror. Why the hell hadn’t she remembered to bring an umbrella with her? Her long dark hair clung limply to her head and shoulders. Water dripped all over her neatly buttoned up white blouse, threatening to expose the secret she hid beneath her prim and proper clothes. A secret she was too embarrassed to reveal to anyone.

Pulling a hand full of paper towels from the dispenser, she tried to remove as much of the excess water as possible. Sighing, she gave up. Mascara had run down her face, giving her panda eyes, and the tube had said water resistant.

Why did this have to happen today of all days? The new owner of the company officially took over this morning, and she had been given the daunting task of being his new PA. When she’d applied for the job, she’d assumed Mr Worthington would still be the owner. All that changed when he’d had a heart attack and sold the company.

Having no family to pass the firm to, he reluctantly placed it on the open market to the highest bidder. At this point it was too late for Jane to change her mind, the contract was signed and her old position had already been filled.

Rumours circulating the office were of a very good looking Italian that worked and played hard. He has a no nonsense approach to business. He liked things formal around the office, and stood for no one not pulling his or her weight.

Fabian Viali featured in all the gossip magazines, a different Barbie doll on his arm every time. The tittle tattle circulating the office couldn’t have been more correct about this man. He worked like a demon and expected everyone to have the same commitment.

It confused her that he would be interested in a little shipping company like Worth’s. All his concentrated businesses were either in hotels or some other form of the leisure industry. It was even rumoured he owned a number of very exclusive underground fetish clubs, but of course, it was never confirmed.

Just thinking of what sort of things happened in a place like that brought a deep flush to Jane’s face. Smoothing down her clothes, checking not too much was visible to the naked eye she began to remove the smudges of black from her face, as the door opened.

“What the hell happened to you?” Callie’s critical eye roved over Jane’s appearance. “You look bad enough normally but just…well look at yourself. This is no way to greet the new boss.”

Jane clenched her teeth together. Callie had never been someone she got along with, but ever since she’d beaten her to the job of PA to Mr Worthington, Callie had been making her life hell. In fact, there really wasn’t anyone at work who Jane would consider a friend, in or out of the office.

As far as she was concerned they were far to self absorbed and only interested in a couple of things. The main one was of course themselves. The second, which poor sucker could be convinced to take them out of this ‘hell hole’ and give them the life in which they believed they were destined to have. Money and status, it didn’t matter whether they were in love with the man or not.

Jane had over heard too many conversations where their next ‘victims’ were plotted down to the last minute of capture. Much to Callie’s chagrin she had been unable to tighten the snare to the point where the man could escape permanent entrapment. When she had heard Callie was even willing to say she was pregnant to get the man she wanted, Jane’s stomach turned at the devious unhand techniques that these women employed. This was one vipers pit and nothing could make Jane a part of that.

She was sure that Callie had only gone for the PA’s job to try and peddle her wares on Mr Worthington. It seemed age didn’t matter it was all the other trappings that concerned her and her cronies.

Jane sucked in a large gulp of air to steady the anger slowly rising throughout her body at Callie’s obvious attempt to rile her. Looking at her watch she spoke in a low tone, “I might ask you what you are doing in at a quarter to eight and on this side of the building. Your desk is way over the other side and you never get in before nine.”

Callie shot her a disgruntled look, “Well, I wanted to make sure Fabian…I mean Mr Viali was okay and that he had everything he needed before you arrived.”

Good grief the poor man hadn’t even arrived and the evil witch was plotting her moves. “Well considering I’m in everyday around seven thirty, anything he wants before that time will just have to wait till I arrive.” Jane pursed her lips, “and you will get your chance to sell…I mean introduce yourself at the meeting arranged for ten thirty in the conference room.” She tried to walk around Callie to the door but she refused to move. “Now are you going to get out of my way or do I have to move you?”

Callie visibly bristled at her words, “Who the hell do you think you are talking to? How dare you threaten me? You will never be better than me, just take a good long look at yourself, what man would want that? Just remember that. You will never be better than me.”

With that she turned and left the room. Catching hold of the door before it closed Jane followed her out. She knew what Callie was up to. She fully intended to make a ‘good impression’ with Mr Viali. Show Jane up as inferior, she would flutter those eyelashes and bend over in just the right way, to show maximum cleavage, all in the attempt to take away from her inadequate skills in the office.

As far as Jane was concerned looks and dress didn’t matter at work it was ability that counted. Her clothes were appropriate attire for a working office. Okay, so her 3” stilettos didn’t go with the rest of her outfit of a high buttoned blouse and straight knee length skirt, but it was business like and showed she was serious and there to work. She allowed herself this one other concession, after all no one could see what was underneath that serious façade, no one would ever know her embarrassing secret.

Jane’s thoughts were interrupted by a very deep accented voice sliding down the length of her spine, sending fissions of electricity through her nerve endings. Involuntarily she gasped at the sensation his voice had on her body. Redness flushed her cheeks as she looked for the man behind that sensual voice but Callie was in her way.

“Ah, you must be Miss McGuire? Nice to meet you…finally.”

“No, I’m not Jane.” Callie said in a voice that was far too cheerful, “I’m Callie, Mr Douglas’ secretary.” She stepped to one side and pointed, “She is Jane.”

Jane cringed at the look of shock on Fabian Viali’s face, she was concerned that if his eyes widened any more they would pop out of his head. She knew she was no beauty but she didn’t think she was that bad to look at. Before she could say anything Callie continued.

Sidling up to Fabian, Callie put on her best sultry voice, Jane was amazed at how low and seductive it sounded, “But of course if you ever…and I mean ever…need my assistance in anything at all, then you only need to ask.”

Jane stood transfixed as Fabian’s eyes never left Callie, the epitome of the woman she had seen him splashed all over the papers with. She stiffened as she waited to hear his response.

“Well Callie, might I suggest that you make your way to your own desk and if I need anything, I’m sure Miss McGuire will be more than capable of attending to my needs. After all she is my PA.” With that Fabian started to walk away from a momentarily stunned Callie, then stopped and turned back to look at her, “Oh and if Mr Douglas doesn’t keep you busy enough, I will need to have a word with him as to why he has so much time on his hands.”

Dropping her head, Jane couldn’t hide the smirk that crossed her mouth. It was about time Callie got pulled up short and it seemed that Fabian was just the man to do it. She couldn’t believe it ears when Callie didn’t let the matter drop.

“Erm, Mr Viali I don’t think you understood me when I said anything, I meant anything as in…”

“Miss, well whatever you name is, I didn’t misunderstand you at all. In fact I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. But as you chose not to let the matter drop, let me give you one more reason to hear me this time. If I ever hear or see you try and do something similar again, you will be out of here so fast you won’t know what has hit you. Consider this your final warning.”

Jane head shot up and her mouth dropped open at his words. Her eyes locked with a very startled and red faced Callie, who was spluttering as she turned on her heel and headed for the door.

“Now Miss McGuire, if you and your friend are quite finished, we have work to do.”

Flustered Jane turned to face him. “Erm…I mean…Well I am not or have I ever been friends with Callie, sir. And I don’t appreciate being automatically associated with that kind of behaviour either.” She folded her arms across her chest in a move of defiance. Judging by the way the muscle in his jaw flexed, she wondered if her bold statement had been a wrong move. Whether she would be the next one for a warning or even the chop?

She watched him stare at her and waited for the axe to fall. Even though she feared repercussions she couldn’t help but be drawn to the vision stood in front of her. From the way his dark brown hair just slightly curled around the nape of his neck, to the strong chiselled jaw, high cheek bones and deep chocolate brown eyes.

His broad muscled shoulders strained against the fabric of his designer shirt, hiding nothing from her eyes. She wondered if his chest was smooth or whether his tanned skin had a fine dusting of hair. Jane clenched her thighs together to try and stop the throbbing in her clit, at the thought of running her fingers through the imagined hair on his well-sculpted chest.

“Well, thank you for putting me straight on this matter. Now if you quite finished staring, can we get on?”

* * * * *

If Fabian’s morning had started so badly before he’d gotten to the office, then this entire incident wouldn’t have seemed like such a debacle. He was used to having the women who worked for him, make advances, but never this soon. Normally they would take at least a couple of days. He almost felt sorry for the fact that poor Miss Jane McGuire had taken the brunt of it, as she stood there with her mouth agape at his comments.

Shaking his head, he turned and headed for what was to be his office. He really didn’t want to think about the mess that lay beyond those doors. Think about it he must though, if he were to transport this little shipping company into the head quarters for the new planned Speciality Cruise Company.

He soon realised that he was the only one heading to his office, and Jane wasn’t following him. Stopping he turned to face her, “Miss McGuire. Do I need to repeat myself?” He watched as she slowly shook her head. “Well then, let’s get to work. We will be dropping our first bombshell in the meeting at 10.30 and I want to make sure we are ready for the backlash.”

He observed his oh so prim and proper PA tentatively walk passed him, briefly pausing at her desk to pick up a pad and pen. He couldn’t make out what she took from the top drawer of her desk, but as she reached up and pulled her long dark brown hair back, her white blouse stretched taut across her breast and revealed very ample lush mounds.

Fabian felt his groin stir in reaction to the delectable breasts that she’d inadvertently put on display for him. As the buttons strained against her movements, he could’ve sworn he caught a glimpse of something that didn’t match the outward appearance she was portraying.

He sighed at his wayward mind and made a motion for Jane to precede him into the office. He needed a decent fuck. That’s what was wrong with him. Why else would this plain and plump woman make his dick started to jump to attention at the first sight of her breast.

He’d been on a couple of dates in the last week with a new model, Catherine. She looked everything a man could want on the outside, but she was lousy in bed. Her bones would jar his every movement, she’d even called him sleazy when he’d playful slapped her ass. He wasn’t sure who the act had hurt the most, her for him daring to do it or him, when his hand connected with the bone he found in place of her butt.

What was with women today? Why did they feel the need to starve themselves just to be accepted? Okay, he would admit that men like him were probably part of the problem, but Fabian had started to wonder whether his ancestor’s had something with their choice of women. They preferred them with a more meat on the bone.

As he watched Miss PP, short for Miss Prim and Proper as he’d decided to call her, he had to admit she definitely had a backside worth exploring. Plump and round ass, with the right amount of padding to cushion a man when pounding her pussy, or if he was really lucky, her tight puckered hole from behind. Such a pity about her looks though he would never be seen dating someone like her.

Following her, he paused as she adjusted her clothes and crossed her legs. He nearly fell over his own feet at the sight of her long shapely legs, decked out in sheer nylon and those shoes.

Oh, they were not something that Miss PP should be wearing. The slender tapered 3” heels, the soft red leather and the ankle strap securing it to her foot. This was definitely something that didn’t fit her persona. This was more akin to footwear he’d seen women wearing at his club, perhaps he hadn’t mistaken what he’d seen earlier after all.

Miss PP wasn’t all she was making herself to be and this peaked Fabian’s interest. He wondered what else would be revealed about her as they got to know each other.

M/M Romantica / Erotica

I am well aware that this is a subject open to some controversy, but I am also aware that there is a lot of support out there for m/m romance. I like to list myself right there at the top of the supporters list.

My friend, Celia Kyle, lovingly refers to it as Yummy Man Loving (YML).

There has been quite a few things spoken for and against m/m in the romance genre. I personally feel that everything has a right to be there. I also agree that people have a right to there own opinion.

Romantic Times recently voted against having a m/m panel at next years RT Convention. In there defense they did then open a poll to gage the views of readers. Whether or not this will change things in the future remains to be seen. To have an organisation as large as RT speaking out in this way could appear damaging to m/m romance. I feel it had the opposite effect, it brought the subject out into the open and made more people aware of it.

Some mistakenly thought that m/m was a new thing. Something that had only become hip over the last couple of years. In fact it's been out for more years than I care to mention. This is not a new things folks and it's not going away. In fact, m/m if getting more popular, especially amongst female readers of romance / erotica.

You may ask the question, why? I don't know how other people feel about it but from my own feelings I can share my opinion.

For me m/m can be one of the sensual, tender and lovingly experiences in the printed word. It can also be dark, dangerous and highly erotic. I keep plenty ice at the ready for some authors work, the pages sizzle. I relish the fact that two people, regardless of race, creed, colour, species (in some paranormals) and religion can find love no matter what sex they are. The books are very well written and a joy to read.

M/M is not the only form of romance / erotica that I read or write for that matter, but it is always a favourite of mine. If you are in anyway curious about what all the fuss is, give it a go. It may not be for you but please don't condemn it without trying it out for yourself.

For those of you that are interested in pursuing m/m romance / erotica 32 authors have form a group. They have a website Man Love Romance and a newsletter that you can subscribe to. There is also a great competition on the site to win a beautiful lithograph drawing called Parallel Dreams, by a wonderful Canadian artist Steve Walker.

All the authors have direct links to their own websites and from there you can browse through the many wonderful works they have on offer.

Some of my personal favourites are Kira Stones Blood Series. Heck I read anything that Kira publishes, I love her work, but her Blood Series is my favourite. She has created a series of Paranormal Characters that have very real concerns and issues. The book Blood Price is a very touching and moving story about a Vampire Lord and human who fight against what appear to be insurmountable odds to be together. Both face death in one form or another. You may think this sounds a little blood thirsty. It is far from it, the penmanship of the book is oustanding and beautifully put together.

Another favourite is Renee George's Seven Deadly Sins, Avarice. It's a story about Hogan and Sun. Sun has something that Hogan wants and Hogan has something that Sun wants. The journey that each of these two men take is full of personal conflicts. Sun is a very real innocent in a world that isn't that innocent anymore. His innocence reminded me of what it was to be a child again, when everything was new and surround in mystery. A time when what can sometimes be a cold reality was not part of my vocabulary. Renee has capture Sun essence perfectly, painting a guiding light with words.

Both of these books can be found at Changeling Press. My hats go off to both you ladies for such wonderful work and to all the authors that I've not had chance to mention, paricularly Sean Michael. He is a forerunner in this genre and a particular favourite is the Jarhead Series.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post please add your comments for everyone else to read. Whether you are in favour or against m/m romance I would like to hear from you.

Boys Misbehaving

There was a slight creak of a floorboard as Brin crept along the landing. He held his breath and waited to see if Shara had heard him. Judging that he was safe, he very quietly opened the study door.

"Psst, wolfman, stop chasing your tail and get in here, you big fur ball."

Blake stopped dead in his wolf tracks. "Are you talking to me, you over sexed vamp alien?"

Brin's grin grew wider, "Yeah, I suppose I am." he shook his head, "Never mind that, she's not on the blast computer for once. This is our chance to be heard."

Padding along the landing, Blake couldn't resist scaring Tink, Shara's mad cat. "Blake, will you stop that, she'll hear you."

"Okay, okay, I'm coming. Don't get your breaches in a twist." Blake jumped into the other chair and shifted back into human form. "Erm Brin, why the hell have you posted a pic of two men? Where are the women?"

"She always post pics of men on her blog, this way they won't be so suspicious. Besides, she does not have any pics of women."

"What the hell are you going on about? Aren't we supposed to be introducing ourselves? Hello, like they are not gonna know it's us." Blake rolled his eyes.

"Erm, well I... well I had not really thought that far ahead." Brin couldn't keep his eyes from Blake's naked form. "Blake could you put some clothes on, you are...well kind of distracting."

Tracing Brin's eye line Blake knew instantly where he was looking. "Hey, eyes on the screen buddy. You are not getting you hands, mouth or anything else for that matter on my piece of prime wolf meat."

Brin licked his lips, nearly salivating at what Blake had on offer. "Come on Blake, you know I want a piece of you."

"I don't care what you want. How many more times do I have to tell you I don't do men? Just because you do men, women and any alien that takes your fancy, you are not gonna change my mind. Now, aren't we supposed to be doing something...like introducing ourselves?"

Running his tongue seductively over his elongated fangs, "Yes, I suppose you are right but..."

"But what?" Blake raised his eyes to look at Brin's face and released a low growl. "Oh no, you freaky alien vamp, you can get that look of your face now."

Brin shook his head, "I cannot, I need some ass and while you're the only one here..." with that he leapt off the chair at Blake. In the enclosed space Blake wasn't quick enough to escape him. A loud crash had Shara running up the stairs.

"What the hell is going here?" She stood in the doorway of the study, hands on hips and foot tapping. At that moment Tink, decided to join in the melee firmly planting her claws into Brin's back.

Brin uncharacteristically swore and pulled Tink from his back, tossing her into the bedroom. "Well, he started it," waving his hand towards Blake. "Look how he is walking around. How am I suppose to restrain myself?"

"Hey, it's not my fault. You were the one who was impatient and wanted to introduce us."

Shara visibly paled, "Oh no, what have you two done?"

The two men got up and dusted themselves down. "Nothing." They both mutter at the same time.

"Blake, Brin - Anita and Jan are gonna kill you two." Shaking her head, shouting loudly, "Kraw, get your butt up here."

In a flash, Kraw was at the top of the stairs, "Yes, Shara."

Reaching up Brin's over 7 foot frame and Blake's over 6 foot frame, Shara took both men by the ears and started to lead them downstairs. "Right, you two have got some explaining to do and it had better be good." Pausing on the stairs to shout back at Kraw, "Can you get the cat off the ceiling? Lord only knows how she ended up there."

Kraw let out a low rumbling laugh.

* * * * * *

You maybe wondering who is relaying this part of Shara's life well, allow me to introduce myself. I am Kraw, first brother to Kan, who is King of our Realm. You will be getting to know me quite well, although not as well as the Dark Ice Goddess herself. Mwhahahahahahahahaha.

My Weekend Was Hell

So much for getting some writing done this weekend. *sigh* I was working at my dreaded day job (DDJ) all weekend and I even had meeting scheduled for Sunday morning at 8.30. So much for it being a Monday to Friday gig. Oh well.

On a good note I've been mentioned on Sexual Chocolate Blog spot and my friend's Celia Kaye's Blog as well, although I'm not too sure Celia appreciated what I said to her!!!!!

Work is progressing on my confession for Dark Ice Goddess' Stories. I'm hoping to have most of that wrapped up this week. So any takers for proofing it? LOL

Blake has gone off in a sulk because I promised to work on him... I mean his story this weekend and I've not got around to it. I just hope Anita didn't hear that.

Well as for Kans's Destiny - he's been pretty quiet - probably because he was quite happy at where I left the story. But Brin, his ever loving side kick, won't shut and Kan's brother, Kraw, went and eloped and got himself married to the Dark Ice Goddess herself. What the heck am I gonna do with them?

Nikos, from the Trade Off, is getting impatient to see his contract signed, sealed and "delivered" in more ways than one. Steve, from a Question of Trust, is just a little worried at the moment that his secret will be revealed before he's had chance to explain things to Sara. So my head is a mess at the minute. LOL Oh the joys of wanting to be an author, who told me I was any good at this and gave me the idea to get published. Ah, I think that would be my friend Jan, but where is she, off playing and causing trouble with Brin.

On a sad note, one of my favourite hunks sites is closing down on the 21st September, icy hot hunks. Shall we just say that this site has been a great source of "inspiration" for me over the last few months. So I think that my choices for today is whether I write or continue to download as many "inspirational" pics as possible before the site closes. Hmmmm, tough choice that one, I wonder what I will go for?

And just to leave on a positive note, here's a little scenery for all you cowboy lovers to have a good look at.

What Am I Doing?

Aaaahhhh Don't you just love cowboys? There is something so strong, rugged and just plain, well manly about them. I would love to be locked in a ... Well I don't think I should say anymore.

Anyway, for those who don't know me I'm aspiring romance / erotica author Shara Cooper. I'm hoping to change the aspiring title to published soon. LOL

I've number of WIP at the moment. A paranormal / sci-fi called the Aqua System: Kan's Destiny. I'm hoping that this will be at least a 4 book series. The people from Kan's world don't mind about who they find their sexual pleasure with until their Destiny if revealed to them. Well, then it's a whole different ballgame and they can get kind of possessive. Oh and they a number of hiden talents that is sure to shock any gal right out if clothes.

My shifter novella - Halloween Surprise - has my hero Blake giving Krisha a hard time. He's also keeps getting on my case about some chick called Anita, and she's not even in the story. Hmmmm I think I need to do a little asking around to find out exactly what this wolfman has been upto. The things he's telling me are embarrassing even to an author like me.

I've two contemps in the works as well - A Question of Trust and The Trade Off. Also I'm writing a story for a very good friends blogspot Dark Ice Goddess's Stories. For those who know the site I'm writing Nora's Story one of the friends of Calla from the story Thunderstorm Rendevous.

Nora's had a bit of a rough time in the past - but she's been forging ahead and making a great career for herself as a photographer. She's even landedshooting the cover of Vogue- which she won't shut up about and is giving me a headache. But she's made a enemy along the way. You see it's her big mouth - she can't keep it shut. Well, she doesn't know she got this enemy and a planned weekend to a beach house is not gonna be what she expected at all.

I'll be posting excerpts and undates on all my WIP as I go along. *Sigh* "Alright Brin, keep it down will you. *Groan* Not you too Blake." Sheeesh it seems that some of my guys want to post a message or two as well. Will they ever leave me in peace, I suspect not until I let them have their say. So who knows who the next post will be from. LOL
